One of the fun things about celebrating Christmas with a toddler is creating family traditions. Andrew and I have had our own traditions as a married couple, but now with this being Lila's first REAL Christmas (she was eight months old last year and had no concept of what was going on) we have been able to come up with some new ways to celebrate this time of year. So, the day after Thanksgiving, we set out to buy our first real tree. I have always put up a pre-lit tree in our house (and burned an evergreen candle!), but we decided to go out and get a real one this year. We went out to dinner, got some Starbucks hot chocolate, and headed out to get our tree. There was something strange about walking around the tree lot with temperatures in the 70s, drinking hot chocolate! It's all about the memories, we kept telling ourselves!

love your new tradition....such a sweet family!
