We celebrated Grandmother Melba's 90th birthday with a surprise party at my mom and dad's house. Since Grandmother lives with them, it made organizing this party a little tricky. We told Grandmother we were taking her out to eat to one of her favorite restaurants. We invited family and close friends, and we ended up having about 40 people there! They all arrived 15 minutes before we were supposed to be "picking Grandmother up" for her dinner (which really just means walking out to her apartment and putting her in the car). Instead of loading her in the car, we told her there was something she had to come in to Mom and Dad's house to see. As she came around the corner, she saw all of her family and friends! She was so surprised! She has lived 90 wonderful years, and she deserved a huge celebration! Grandmother is such a godly woman and has touched so many lives over the years. We love her very much! Surprise!!
